Marquis de Lafayette--Wanna see my bayonet? by NiccoloMachiavel Marquis de Lafayette--Wanna see my bayonet? by NiccoloMachiavel
Sometimes I forget Lafayette was a soldier who knew how to handle weaponry and was shot and was really tough about it.

Although I don't think he'd object to the lavender waistcoat.

Thank you!! Gotta love those military men.
I looked at your profile and saw you're more into WWI-era/ occupied Germany, so it's really cool that you also appreciate 18th century Frenchmen, too!

The way you draw his hair and subtle gradients....:iconohmygodplz:

Yes, I know I sometimes forget too. Its easy to think he's a delicate noble but getting blasted in the knee, managing to maintain a successful retreat, recover then go to Valley Forge, whew! Plus like 5 years of torture in a Prussian dungeon :(

Well, since the Malachowski Hussars could get away with uniforms in light blue and lemon yellow, the lavender waistcoat looks actually quite spartan in comparison. And quite a lot good-looking, too.
